Season of LOVE

Good afternoon, friends!
I'm getting amped up for Valentine's Day and stocking Little Canoe with all kinds of cutesy love themed items.  AND I've only just begun.  For one reason or another, this is a really easy topic for me to illustrate.  I think it's because I have such a wildly romantic heart.  Although I've suffered a lot of heartache lately, I can still remember how good it felt when I was in the throws of it.  It was thrilling, it was consuming, it was all I could ever ask for.
It was kinda like this:

Sometimes, love can make you soar, make you feel invincible.  It makes you believe in things you deemed impossible.  You feel like you've been let in on a giant secret that no one else will ever know.  It makes you blush, it makes you smile.  It gives you a reason to wake up in the morning.  It's pretty incredible.
That's what lead me to make the above greeting card.  I remember  that feeling, like I had crossed a thousand oceans and seen things nobody else had seen.  I felt worldly.   It really took me to a whole other level.  I hope everyone can find that feeling at some point.  You can see that card in my etsy shop.

I've also decided to give a shout out to those who are often less represented but who deserve as much love in their lives as the rest of us (obviously).
Here's my Lady Love artwork, to start off with:
This works for friends and lovers alike.  I can definitely think of a couple gals I'd want to give this to.  I've made it into a greeting card too, available here.
AND, if you really really like it, I think it looks quite charming on this laptop cover:

And now for all the deserving fellas out there!
I couldn't help but make one of them beardy.  I just love drawing hairy men!  I hope all you gentlemen  enjoy this, also as a greeting card in my shop.

There's a really nifty sweatshirt up for grabs in my Society6 shop too!  I would totally wear this.
I'm going to make more prints available of both of these images, probably omitting the words for a more elegant look.  Let me know if you have any ideas for me!

Lastly, I was surprised to find myself featured in a Japanese magazine this month!

Although it isn't a feature about my work, but more about Portland bike street style, I was pleased to be thrown into the mix.  The magazine is called Pedal Speed, you can check it out here.  I don't know what it says about me, but there's a whole section on Portland and it's bicycle culture.  If anyone knows japanese and can translate it for me, I'd be delighted!  I'd also love to get my hands on a copy at some point if I can ever figure out how....

Alright, back to work for me!  Have a wonderful week.
xx
